Homework: November 13 Thursday

Dear parents,

We had a wonderful time at grandparent's day. Thank you for your hard work! Artios is a great school, and your support means a lot. Friday is our Field Trip! We will be going to the Carter House in Franklin. Make sure your permission slip and money arrive by Friday. Students may wear nonuniform clothing, and everyone is strongly encouraged to bring a jacket. Don't miss it!!! Here is the homework for Thursday, November 13.

Math: Complete worksheet 33A/B. Kindergarten is learning about the number 30 and writing sentences. First grade is learning about addition facts and sums of ten. Work with your child closely on the number sentences. If Sue had three markers and she gave two to Jean, the number sentence should read: 3markers - 2markers = 1marker.

Phonics: Both classes are on lesson 58. Kindergarten has been working on the short "I". Have fun and think of any words that begin with "i". First grade has been learning about the oa, ow, and oe relationship. They all make the long "O". Don't forget the macron over the "O" to denote it is long.

History: Cut out the icons from the Civil War. Have your child draw a soldier or the Carter family in their basement during the battle. Glue the pictures on the drawing and make it a part of the picture.

Have a great day! I look forward to seeing everyone on Friday for the field trip. It should be a fun time of Tennessee history.
